F500 Cowhide Muscles® Liquid membrane waterproof, a coating that can substitute for waterproofing membranes.This high-performance waterproof coating cures to form a rubber-like elastomer.It is primarily made from anionic rubber,modified high-quality petroleum asphalt, and includes various rubbers, synthetic resins, surfactants, emulsifiers, and antitoxins, produced with specialized equipment to create a high-elasticity,premium waterproof coating.

Description

Scope of Application

  • Various types of buildings such as roofs, gutters, balconies, etc., require waterproof and moisture-proof treatment (using a protective layer extends service life);
  • Waterproof and moisture-proof treatment for basements, kitchens, bathrooms, garages, etc.;
  • Especially suitable for waterproofing complex, deformable, and crack-prone irregular parts of structures.

Application Process

  • Clean the base surface thoroughly; it should be solid and smooth without any looseness, sanding, or peeling, free of dust, oil, or debris. Uneven areas should be repaired with repair mortar.
  • After repairs, treat the base surface with a primer by rolling or spraying to ensure the surface is solid and dust-free.
  • All penetrations through the waterproof layer, such as pipes, embedded parts, equipment bases, and reserved openings, should be installed and secured before the waterproofing application.
  • Apply a thin, even first coat of the liquid membrane, incorporating polyester fabric into the coating for crack repair or large-scale applications to enhance the tensile strength of the membrane. Lay the polyester fabric during the first application.
  • After the first coat dries, apply a second, thicker coat of liquid membrane. The total thickness of both applications should be no less than 1.5mm. Subsequent applications should be carried out once the previous coat is touch-dry and non-sticky,with perpendicular cross-application to prevent missed areas. For special areas such as internal and external corners, gutters, and pipes, reinforce the first layer with polyester fabric before proceeding with subsequent applications.
  • Wait at least 48 hours after application before exposing the surface to water or applying other covering layers. For a protective layer, especially under roof or outdoor conditions to ensure the long-term durability of the liquid membrane, it is advisable to cover the dry film with a protective layer of 2-3 cm thick cement mortar directly.

Features

  • A single-component product, ready to use upon opening the barrel, offering convenient and rapid application. It can be applied by brushing, rolling, or mechanical spraying, meeting various customer construction requirements.
  • Excellent waterproof performance, forming a seamless, complete waterproof coating on the base surface. Once dry, the coating has superior water resistance and can be submerged for extended periods.
  • Exceptional elongation properties, with an elongation rate of up to 700%, capable of repairing minor cracks in the substrate that cause leaks.
  • Excellent low-temperature flexibility, remaining crack-free at temperatures as low as -25°C.
  • Outstanding high-temperature sag resistance, does not flow at temperatures up to 110°C.
  • Strong adhesive force, displaying excellent adhesion on various substrates.
  • A water-based product, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, free from toxic and harmful substances.
  • Time-saving and material-efficient, the product can be applied in thicknesses from 1-5mm with a single application without cracking. Mechanized application allows a single operator to cover large areas, solving the time-consuming and material-wasting issues of traditional membrane installation, such as cutting, overlapping, and heat welding.

Precautions

  • A direct method of quality inspection for waterproof construction is the closed water acceptance test;
  • The closed water test should be performed 72 hours after the coating has cured to avoid issues such as peeling, cracking, or detachment due to incomplete curing during multi-layer application;
  • After the closed water test, avoid using sharp objects that might damage the coating; if damaged, repair it immediately;
  • To avoid affecting product performance, do not add other colloidal materials to this product;
  • The product must be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from prolonged exposure to sunlight, and newly applied waterproof coatings also need to be protected from rain and frost;
  • The suitable construction temperature is 5°C to 35°C, with humidity between 50-70%, and outdoor construction wind should not exceed Beaufort scale 5.

Packaging and Storage

  • During transportation, avoid exposure to sunlight, rain, and impact to prevent damage to the packaging.
  • Store the product in a cool, dry place at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C, and avoid direct sunlight.
  • Shelf life: 12 months.
